beware: i think i drank some happy juice.

I am on top of the world today. Yesterday I was a scary scary person to be around, but today, I am fabulous. Perhaps I'm bipolar...

Yesterday work came crashing down on me. Everything wasn't going to work out with this huge project I've been focusing on. I put deadlines on myself and I wasn't going to meet them. I was a mess. Psychotic and scary. I wanted to leave work and hit the bottle. Instead, I hit the streets and went shopping, equally dangerous, but more gratifying in the end.

Today, life is fabulous.

To begin my list of fabulous things, my project came together. A company is custom making me 3 boxes with foil stamps, embossing, die cut inlays, everything, in time for the deadline. I spoke with Dave and talked him through my designs and process. The first time I've actually spoken with him since being here. He was happy and that made me reassured.

I would hug that box guy. He has no idea how much pressure he's relieved from me.

Amir is coming to Aussie! I'm SO excited!

I am leaving in 15 minutes from work for a fabulous meal at Scusami, and very fancy Italian place near the river. It's a company dinner, but turned out just to be 5 of the girls I feel like I've gotten to know well, and I'm expecting it to be really really fun, and full of lots of pasta and bubbly. Both of which sounds amazing, because I'm finally over my illness, and after basically 4 days of not eating, I'm ravenous and thirsty. I feel bad for the company credit card ;)

ALSO, I booked Amir and my flights to Sydney for Nov 4-7. The day after Melbourne Cup, which we're also going to. I am SO insanely excited to see Rich, Gav, and Greg, and for them to meet Amir. I know Sydney is going to be so much fun, and I've been planning to go, but now that I actually have the tickets, it's just making me that much more excited.

Jane and I are having dinner on Thursday as well (also planning a long, brisk, walk over lunch tomorrow together to work off a bite of tonight's meal!) She's a girl I work with. A few years older than me, but we get along fabulously. One of those people with a permanent smile on their faces who just makes you cheerful. We also got together on Sunday for a walk in the Botanical Gardens and a coffee, and literally cut each other off repeatedly for 2 hours of talking. It was great fun. Oh, and I did go to the BBQ on Saturday at Pip's. I was pretty ill but met loads of people. Geelong won the footy grand final, so that meant huge celebrations for Victoria and Melbourne. Rumor has is, the Geelong team still hasn't gone to bed since Saturday night!

I come home on Sat btw, for 10 days, then come back here on the 19. It's gone really fast, this first half! I'm so excited to see everyone, and Kira!

I'm planning to take many photos tonight! Got to run, cocktails and bruschetta await!
