After a strange and disjointed few days back in the office in Toledo, and an absolutely wonderful and relaxing vacation to Maine with my family and Amir, I've arrived back in Melbourne. The flight was nice, I slept most of the time due to an insane Thursday night in Toledo. I also didn't test positive for explosives as I did on my way back to Toledo. (I'm serious, I honestly tested positive for explosives and they had to run all these tests on me.) All my flights were full which meant I had to sit next to people, and because of the genius IQ of our travel agent, I had all center seats, even though I'd requested aisle. This is the first time I actually received the veggie meal I ordered, but it still got messed up because I had some strange quiche for dinner and rice and asparagus for breakfast.
I feel totally messed up due to jetlag today. I'm surprised I'm formulating sentences. I tried to keep myself up last 'night' but passed out on the couch at 6 pm while cooking 3 huge pots of soup. I'm doing a crazy detox thing, because I feel like all I've done the past 3 weeks is eat and drink and totally abuse my body. So anyway, I fell asleep at 6, and luckily Amir called and woke me up so I salvaged the soup. I fell back asleep on the couch until 10, when I moved to the bed and slept soundly, until 330 am. At which point I awoke, ready to face the day [night].
I felt like it was lunch by the time I arrived at work at 8. I'd already gone for a jog, surfed the whole internet, burnt myself on the iron, and forgotten an umbrella when it started to rain on the way to work. Typical. I cheated on my detox before 9 am, as I'd already consumed 2 cups of English Breakfast tea and 2 double 'long blacks' (I think it's watered down expresso, but it's the closest thing I can get to black coffee here). It's great to get back into the swing of things here, work wise, everything is going SO smoothly. It's unbelievable because I'm pretty used to the shit hitting the fan pretty much daily. So I'll keep my fingers crossed but all the stuff I've been doing while working here is right on schedule and has positive feedback. :)
Most importantly. Amir comes in 11 days. I don't think I've ever been so excited to see him :) Nothing I could possibly do in the next 10 days will compare to the amount of fun we're going to have when he's here, so for this reason, I will sit around, watch TV, work late, work out, sleep early, and eat a diet of bland cabbage soup, fruit, and no booze - all of which will probably make me a 'better and healthier person' and my life and this blog incredibly boring.
Cheers! (...to decaf tea)

Hah! I just made a pot of cabbage soup (the diet kind) today, but not to detox-- I actually love it!
That's exciting that Amir is actually getting to visit! The Aussies that I met (and that you've heard all about) will be here in LA in 8 days. I don't know if you have anyone to go with or whatever, but you should go see them play in Melbourne on the 28th before they leave-- they're supposedly pretty awesome live.
